Crew - keep in mind that while I will take up to six anglers it is certainly one of life’s “just because you can, doesn’t always mean you should” scenarios.  The more anglers in a party the more constrained it can become to move around the vessel and fish effectively or safely, especially when weather conditions decline or the pace gets exciting.  Two to three anglers work best for fly trips and up to four anglers is ideal for light tackle trips.  More than that is doable, but the party will want to rotate anglers and make an effort to stay out of each others way to safely fish. Easier said than done.  As the quarry gets larger, gear gets larger, and distances and environmental conditions grow so these factors increase.  While the boat is very capable - longer transits, exposure to the elements, and crew comfort are always a consideration.

Weather Policy – “You can’t catch fish from your couch.”  I regretted 100% of the trips I never took and have yet to regret any trip we attempted and turned back.  So long as conditions are deemed safe by the Captain and we can accomplish your goals then the trip will go on.  Having said that, if ultimately your party is not aligned with the Captain’s call we can likely find another day.  It is more important to me that your party enjoys their trip and that we can do it safely.

Evening Backwater or Quick Hit Outings

Off hours Quick Hits or Evening fly fishing and/or light tackle trips on the Flatwing exploring Cape Cod’s protected salt marshes, salt ponds, and harbors for Striped Bass. Don’t let the Flatwing’s smaller stature fool you, monsters come out and get shallow at night. Striped bass are quite active nocturnal hunters. In addition to local knowledge and attentive hearing, we’ll utilize Garmin Livescope to locate and target fish more effectively than during the day by eye.

Evenings usually start about 8:30pm.

Up to 2 anglers. Kids welcome.

Rates:

  • 2 hours $200

  • 3 hours $250

  • 4 hours $300

Sight Fishing Cape Cod Flats

Fly fishing and/or light tackle trip on the Flatwing exploring Cape Cod’s vast northern sand flats for striped bass from May through July. June often brings larger bluefish up to 15 lbs that can be targeted by sight on the southern sand flats. The Cape’s protected salt marshes and tidal creeks also provide interesting sight fishing opportunities on higher tides when flats are flooded deep or difficult due to wind. They contain pocket flats offering lots of opportunity for sight caught Striped Bass.

If the challenge of stalking by pole or creeping with a trolling motor while hunting by sight using light spinning tackle or crab flies and petite sand eel patterns in shallow, clear water intrigues you than this is the trip for you!

Start time varies based on trip length, optimal light angle, and tide cycle while location is often dictated by wind direction.

Up to 2 anglers. Kids welcome.

Rates:

  • Half Day 4 hours $300

  • Full Day 6-8 hours $500

If we don’t see fish, the trip is free.
